Verizon is making a very “Un-carrier” move: a new Verizon Simplicity plan built to be clear, affordable, and packed with the stuff customers actually ask about — plus a push to reduce common fee pain.
What’s in the Verizon Simplicity plan
At a glance, Verizon’s new Simplicity plan is positioned as a straightforward unlimited option. Reported highlights include:
Unlimited data, talk, and text
International roaming
Satellite texting
10GB mobile hotspot
5G Ultra Wideband included (no surcharges and no “gotcha” limits advertised)
Pricing: $30 with port-in, $45 otherwise
The headline price is as low as $30/month if the customer ports in an existing number from another carrier. Without port-in, the plan is reported at $45/month + taxes/fees — still positioned as aggressive compared to competing entry unlimited plans.
Dealer takeaway: This is a conversion plan. Verizon is clearly trying to win switchers, not just “retain and upsell.”
Dealer “Switch Confidence Check” (use this to close without first-bill surprises)
If you’re moving a customer to the Verizon Simplicity plan, run this quick checklist:
Port-in readiness: account number + transfer PIN + billing ZIP (and confirm the line is active).
Device readiness: unlock status, eSIM compatibility, and any remaining device payments.
Coverage reality check: confirm primary locations (home/work) and device band support.
Hotspot fit: confirm whether 10GB is enough (work, school, travel).
No-Surprises estimate: write down the expected monthly, plus any one-time charges/taxes.
30-day bill check-in: schedule it now to prevent churn.
No activation/upgrade fees (with one condition)
Verizon is also reportedly eliminating activation and upgrade fees if customers join Verizon’s Loyalty program (described as a quick sign-up inside the My Verizon app).
Dealer positioning tip: Don’t bury this. Lead with it. Fees are one of the top reasons customers feel “tricked.”
Verizon Dollars + Shine perks (T-Mobile Tuesdays competitor)
Once enrolled, customers can earn Verizon Dollars monthly (not cash-out, but usable toward devices, accessories, and select partner brands). Verizon is also launching Verizon Shine, a perks/sweepstakes program with deals dropping on Mondays and additional promos throughout the week.
Dealer play: Use perks as a retention hook: “Let’s set this up correctly today, then we’ll check your bill in 30 days and make sure you’re actually getting the value.”
Also announced: Verizon One (mobile + home bundle)
Verizon is also introducing a “converged” plan called Verizon One, reported at
$70/month (taxes/fees included) for new customers who bring their own phone, bundling mobile + home connectivity for a simpler “one network” experience.
Smart attach: build a “Simplicity bundle” at checkout
Case + screen protector (reduce breakage + returns)
Car charger + cable (daily convenience)
Optional: power bank (travel + events)

Bottom line
The Verizon Simplicity plan is a strong switcher play: clear pricing, meaningful inclusions (5G UWB, roaming, satellite texting, hotspot), and fewer fee landmines if customers enroll in Loyalty. Dealers who win here will be the ones who run a tight port-in checklist, give a written no-surprises estimate, and schedule a 30-day bill check to lock in retention.
