Another MVNO has just unveiled how it plans to help its subscribers during this pandemic.
Gen Mobile has announced that it will be giving both new and existing customers an extra 5GB of high-speed data at no extra charge. The Sprint MVNO has also extended the grace period for free texts for its customers who are unable to make a timely payment on their bill.
5GB Bonus Data
As announced, Gen Mobile will be giving 5GB of high-speed data to new and existing customers. This, however, is available to customers on a $15 or higher plan. The plans that are eligible to get the 5GB bonus data include the following:
$15 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, 1GB of data, and unlimited international talk and text to over 100 countries
$20 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, 2GB of data, and unlimited international talk and text to over 100 countries
$25 per month plan - comes with unlimited talk, text, 3GB of data, and unlimited international talk and text to over 100 countries
These prices do not yet include taxes and fees. Mobile hotspot usage is allowed. Since data is hard-capped, you will have to purchase extra MBs of data when your allotment runs out before your 30-day billing cycle is over. Make sure to include SPRING10 promo code upon checkout so you can save 10% on your plan.
If you are a new customer, you will need to sign up by May 15, 2020 to get the extra 5GB of data on your first month of service. Existing customers will automatically get the extra data, which will be valid for 30 days.
Free Text Grace Period
Gen Mobile has also extended its free text grace period. This is for customers who are unable to make a bill payment on time, due to the pandemic. Prior to this extension, Gen Mobile will allow you to send and receive text messages up to 15 days after your missed payment date. With today's announcement, though, you now have a grace period of up to 30 days. This is only valid for SMS messages.
