Consumer Cellular Port Out Process

What is the Port Out Process from Consumer Cellular

🔹 1. Gather Required Info

To port your Consumer Cellular number to another carrier, you’ll need:

  • Account Number:
Found by logging in to your Consumer Cellular account at consumercellular.com, or
By calling Consumer Cellular Customer Support at (888) 345-5509.

  • Port-Out PIN (Account Security PIN):
Contact Consumer Cellular at (888) 345-5509 and request your Port-Out PIN (sometimes called your Account Security Code).
This is required by your new carrier to complete the transfer.

  • Billing ZIP Code:
Use the ZIP associated with your Consumer Cellular billing address.

🔹 2. Keep the Account Active

Your Consumer Cellular line must be active for the number to transfer successfully.
Do not cancel your service before the port completes—your number could be lost.

🔹 3. Give Info to the New Carrier

Provide your new carrier with:

  • Consumer Cellular account number

  • Port-Out PIN

  • Billing ZIP Code

Your new carrier will send the request to Consumer Cellular to release your number.

🔹 4. Wait for Completion

  • Wireless-to-wireless ports: typically complete within a few hours.

  • Landline or VoIP ports: may take 1–2 business days.

  • There might be a short period where service is unavailable during the transfer.

  • Once completed, your Consumer Cellular account automatically closes.

🔹 5. Confirm and Stop Auto-Pay

After the port finishes:

  • Log in to your Consumer Cellular account or call (888) 345-5509 to verify the line is closed.

  • Disable AutoPay to avoid further billing.
