Xfinity Mobile Review for Dealers: The Verizon Backed MVNO That Sells Best Next to Home Internet

Xfinity Mobile is one of the biggest MVNOs in the country, and it plays by a different rule than most: you need Xfinity Internet at your house to sign up. That one rule shapes everything about how you sell it.
An MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) is a carrier that rents space on a big carrier's towers instead of building its own. Xfinity Mobile rents from Verizon, then hands customers off to Comcast's own WiFi hotspots whenever they are in range. Comcast says most Xfinity Mobile data traffic actually rides WiFi, not cell towers, which is a big part of how the pricing works.
The niche is simple: households that already have Comcast internet and want one bill, one login, one support relationship. If you sell home internet, TV, or bundled services, this one belongs in your lineup. If you are a pure prepaid store in a market Comcast does not serve, it will not fit, and that is worth saying out loud.
Plans and Pricing
Comcast refreshed its lineup, and per Xfinity's own mobile plans page, the two current plans are Mobile Select and Mobile Plus. Both include unlimited talk, text, and data in the US plus talk, text, and data in 215+ international destinations, and both include WiFi PowerBoost, which pushes WiFi speeds up to a gig on Xfinity gateways and hotspots.
Plan | Price per line | What you get | After the data allowance |
Mobile Select | $30/mo with Xfinity Internet (includes a $10/mo internet customer discount) | Unlimited talk and text, 50 GB premium data, HD streaming, Global Travel Pass, WiFi PowerBoost | Xfinity states that after 50 GB, data may be slowed during network congestion |
Mobile Plus | $45/mo with Xfinity Internet | Unlimited premium data, 4K streaming, Xfinity Mobile Care Plus device protection, annual phone upgrades with a discount, Xfinity Call Guard spam protection | Premium data is not capped the same way; deprioritization terms still apply, so check current plan detail pages |
Comcast's own announcement for these plans described Mobile Plus at $45 per line and Mobile Select at $30 per line, with unlimited device protection and Global Travel Pass built in. Older plans still exist on legacy accounts: Comcast previously sold Unlimited and a Premium Unlimited tier launched in April 2025 with gig WiFi speeds and 4K streaming. Promotions move fast here, including a free Mobile Select line offer for new members and device contract buyout credits, so confirm live pricing and terms on Xfinity's site before you quote a customer. Taxes and fees are extra, and Xfinity Internet is required at sign up.
A nice pitch point: there are no surprise overage bills on the unlimited plans. Customers who use a lot simply may see slower speeds when the network is busy, rather than a charge.
Network Coverage
Xfinity Mobile runs on Verizon's network, so coverage matches what your customers already know from Verizon: strong nationwide 4G LTE and wide 5G reach. Layer on Comcast's WiFi hotspot footprint and in-home gateway handoff, and heavy users often burn less cell data than they expect.
The coverage caveat is the account side, not the signal side. Service availability is tied to Xfinity's wired footprint, so customers outside Comcast internet areas are not candidates. Check the address first, always.
How This MVNO Works
Here is the plain English version for your counter script:
The customer needs an Xfinity Internet account on the address.
They pick a plan per line, and lines can be mixed and matched (one person on Select, another on Plus).
They bring their own phone or buy one through Xfinity, then activate with a physical SIM or eSIM (a digital SIM built into the phone).
Number transfers need the current account number, PIN, and billing details.
Mobile shows up on the same Xfinity bill and in the Xfinity app. If you want a step by step version to hand to new staff, keep our Xfinity Mobile activation walkthrough open during the first few sales.
Data Speeds

Normal use feels like Verizon: full 5G and LTE speeds where available. The distinction to explain is "premium data" versus "deprioritized data." Premium data means the customer sits in the fast lane. Once a plan's premium allowance is used, the phone may slow down when a tower is congested, then speed back up when traffic clears.
One detail worth knowing before a customer asks: PhoneArena reported that Xfinity Mobile trimmed standard streaming video resolution and hotspot speeds on some plans. The current lineup lists HD streaming on Select and 4K on Plus, so if a customer cares about video quality, Mobile Plus is the honest recommendation. BestMVNO's Xfinity Mobile plan roundup is a useful independent second read on how these tiers have shifted over time.
Phone Compatibility
Most recent unlocked iPhones, Samsung Galaxy models, and Google Pixels work fine, since the underlying network is Verizon. Older AT&T or T-Mobile locked handsets are the usual problem. Run the IMEI before you promise anything using our phone compatibility tool, and confirm on Xfinity's own BYOD checker at activation.
Customer Service
Support runs through the Xfinity app, xfinity.com chat, phone support, and Xfinity retail stores. Because mobile lives inside the same account as internet, a customer with a billing question can often solve internet and mobile in one conversation. Set the expectation that support is Comcast, not a small MVNO call center: more channels, but also more menu.
Guarantee and Return Policy

Xfinity publishes a trial window for new mobile service and a device return window, and Mobile Plus includes device protection coverage. Terms change and vary by promotion, so read the current return and trial language on Xfinity's site with the customer instead of quoting a number from memory. For contract buyout credits or trade in commitments, encourage customers to review the terms themselves and, for anything with a legal or tax angle, to talk to a qualified professional.
Pros and Considerations
Strengths:
Verizon coverage without Verizon postpaid pricing
Bundle friendly: one bill with internet, and internet customer discounts baked into plan pricing
Up to multiple lines with per line plan mixing
No overage charges on unlimited plans
Included international talk, text, and data in 215+ destinations on current plans
Considerations:
Xfinity Internet is required, so your addressable market is Comcast's footprint
Promotional pricing usually reverts after 12 months, so quote year two too
Video resolution and hotspot terms differ by plan tier
Dealer Opportunity
Comcast has been leaning hard on mobile. Light Reading has covered both record mobile line additions and Comcast's pivot to new pricing and packaging as broadband growth slowed. Translation for you: mobile is the growth engine Comcast wants to feed, and that tends to mean better offers and more promo support for partners.
The ideal customer is a Comcast internet household paying big carrier prices for two to five lines, especially families and older customers who value simple billing. Cable and ISP dealers, home security dealers doing bundles, and multi service stores in Comcast markets are the best fit. Compensation varies by program and channel, so verify current terms directly with the program before you build a comp plan around it.
