5G Coverage and Compatibility Guide FAQ's

What's the real-world difference between 5G and LTE?

Varies dramatically. Sub-6 5G is often slightly faster than LTE - sometimes much faster, sometimes barely. mmWave 5G is dramatically faster but coverage is limited. Most customers experience modest improvements over LTE.

Which phones support 5G?

Should I push customers to upgrade for 5G?

iPhone 12 and newer, most Android flagships from 2020 onward, and increasingly mid-tier Android devices. Older devices won't get 5G regardless of carrier plan. The guide includes compatibility lookup.

Only if their current device limits experience and 5G coverage in their area is solid. Don't push 5G upgrades when sub-6 5G in the customer's area performs similarly to good LTE. Honest matters more than upsell.
