Verizon Prepaid Port Out Process

What is the Port Out Process from Verizon Prepaid

🔹 1. Gather Required Info

To transfer (port) your Verizon Prepaid number to another carrier, you’ll need:

  • Account Number:
Log in at verizon.com/my-verizon → Account → Account Settings → Account Number, or
Call Verizon Prepaid Customer Service at (888) 294-6804 and request it.

  • Transfer PIN (Port-Out PIN):
Call #PORT (*7678) from your Verizon device to generate it, or
Log in to your Verizon account → Profile → Number Transfer PIN.
The PIN is valid for 7 days.

  • Billing ZIP Code:
Use the ZIP code tied to your Verizon Prepaid billing address.

🔹 2. Keep the Account Active

Your Verizon Prepaid line must remain active and funded.
If it’s suspended, expired, or past due, the port request will fail.

🔹 3. Give the Info to the New Carrier

Provide the new carrier with:

  • Verizon Prepaid account number

  • Transfer PIN

  • Billing ZIP code

They will initiate the port request directly with Verizon.

🔹 4. Wait for the Port to Complete

  • Wireless-to-wireless ports typically finish in a few minutes to a few hours.

  • Landline or VoIP transfers may take up to 24–48 hours.

  • Once the port is complete, your Verizon Prepaid account automatically closes.

🔹 5. Confirm the Cancellation

After the port-out succeeds:

  • Log in to your Verizon account or call (888) 294-6804 to confirm the line has closed.

  • Turn off auto-pay if still active.
