AT&T Prepaid Port Out Process
What is the Port Out Process from AT&T Prepaid
🔹 1. Gather Required Info
To port your AT&T Prepaid number to another carrier, you’ll need:
Account number – not the same as your phone number.
You can find it by calling AT&T Prepaid customer care at 611 (from your phone) or 800-901-9878, then request your account number.PIN / Port-Out PIN – this is your number transfer PIN.
To get it, *dial*PORT(7678) on your AT&T phone and follow the prompts.
Or sign in to your AT&T Prepaid account → Profile → Generate Number Transfer PIN.
🔹 2. Make Sure the Account Is Active
Your AT&T Prepaid line must be active to port out.
If it’s suspended, canceled, or has a $0 balance, the port will fail.
🔹 3. Provide Info to the New Carrier
Give your new carrier:
Your AT&T Prepaid account number
The Number Transfer PIN (valid for 4 days)
The billing ZIP code tied to your AT&T Prepaid account
The new carrier initiates the transfer (you don’t need to contact AT&T directly).
🔹 4. Wait for Completion
Wireless-to-wireless ports typically take minutes to a few hours.
Landline or VoIP ports may take 1–3 business days.
Your AT&T Prepaid service will automatically cancel once the port completes.
