Knock-to-Close Funnel Calculator FAQ's

What counts as a 'contact' vs a 'presentation' in this calculator?

A contact is any doorstep or lead interaction where you actually talked to a person — even if they said 'not interested' in five seconds. A presentation is when you got far enough to actually pitch a plan, device, or offer. Keeping these separate is what shows you whether your problem is getting doors to open or closing once you're inside.

My close rate looks great but my overall conversion is low — what does that mean?

That means your pitch works fine once you're in front of someone — your problem is upstream. Either your contact rate (getting people to answer/engage) or your presentation rate (getting past the doorstep into an actual pitch) is the leak. Fix the top of the funnel before you touch your close technique.

How many doors should I need to knock per sale?

There's no universal number — it depends on territory, offer, and rep skill, and it varies a lot dealer to dealer. Use this calculator to establish YOUR baseline first, then track it weekly. If doors-per-sale creeps up over time with the same rep in the same territory, something in your funnel degraded — script, offer, or lead quality.

Should I track this per rep or for the whole team?

Both, but track it per rep first. Team-wide averages hide your best and worst performers. A rep with a bad contact rate needs different coaching than a rep with a bad close rate — you can't tell the difference from a blended team number.
