Sprint's Boost Mobile has refreshed its in-store promotions. These are deals that are available only at participating Boost dealers, not online or at national retailers like Best Buy, Target or Walmart. Unlike MetroPCS and Cricket, Boost does not publicly announce its in-store offers. The information below was given to me by a reliable industry source, but is not official. Perhaps because Boost doesn't publicize its in-store deals, Boost dealers don't always honor them. I recommend calling dealers first to be sure that they are participating in any deal you are interested in to avoid disappointment and wasted time.
The biggest news is that Boost is again offering four lines of its $50/month Unlimited Gigs Plan for $100. Boost ran the same promotion from May 5 to June 10. This time it's scheduled to run from July 11 to Sept. 7, 2017. Each line gets unlimited talk, messaging and on-device data. 8 GB of hotspot data and 50 minutes of voice roaming per month are also included. Video streaming is limited to 480p resolution, audio streams to to 500 kbps and gaming to 2 mbps. After 23 GB, data is subject to de-prioritization during periods of network congestion.
As before all lines must be new activations and at least one line must be a port-in from a non-Sprint related carrier. The activations and port-in(s) must be performed by a Boost dealer, not online. The best deal is on four lines at $100. Three or fewer lines also cost $100 and five lines are $130. A $5/month auto pay discount is available on the primary line starting with the second month of service.
Boost also extended two promotions that were due to end 7/10/17:
The Free Unlimited Mexico promotion has been extended until 7/31/17. It offers unlimited calls to Mexico and Canada for free and free unlimited roaming in Mexico. All customers on Boost's $50/month single line Unlimited Gigs Plan are eligible for the Free Unlimited Mexico Promotion. The promotion is not automatically applied, to enroll customers need to add the free Todo Mexico Plus add-on using the Boost online dashboard or at a Boost dealer. Users who add the promotion by 7/31 can keep indefinitely as long as they don't change plans.
The U Pay 1, We Pay 1 promotion has been extended to 9/7/17. It gives new customers half price service if they activate a Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T iPhone on the $50/month Boost Unlimited Gigs single line plan. Eligible iPhones for the promotion are the Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s or 6s Plus and the Verizon only iPhone 5s, 5c, SE, 7 or 7 Plus. The same phones from Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile MVNOs are also eligible. Every other month, for the life of the phone, Boost will give the customer a $50 account credit to cover the next month's service. This promotion is officially only available at Boost dealers but at least one Prepaid Phone News reader has been able to get it by calling Boost.
Finally, the following Boost Promotions ended 7/10/17 and will not be extended; the 2 Lines for $50 3 GB family plan promotion and the free Family Plan Add-A-Line promotion.
Boost has also made changes to the pricing and availability of the free and discounted phones offered through dealers. I don't have all the details but the Samsung Galaxy J Emerge, the LG Tribute HD, Kyocera Hydro Reach, LG K3, ZTE Warp 7 and ZTE Prestige 2 will be free to customers who port a number to Boost.
Through 7/31/17, the iPhone 5S is $49.99 for port-ins and $99.99 for new activations and eligible upgrades. Through 9/7/17 the used iPhone 6 16 GB is $99.99 for port-ins and $149.99 for new customers and upgrades.
Boost is switching from instant discounts to mail-in rebates for some offers. New customers and current customers who upgrade their phones at a Boost dealer can get the LG K3, LG Tribute HD and ZTE Prestige 2 free after mail in rebate or the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge for $9.99 after mail in rebate.
