Boost Mobile Includes Roaming To Mexico with $50 Unlimited Gigs Plan

June 8, 2017

Sprint’s prepaid brand Boost Mobile has improved its $50 Unlimited Gigs Plan with international feature. For a limited time, to this plan Boost Mobile includes roaming to Mexico. Customers will get access to unlimited calls and texts to and from this country and up to 8GB of data roaming. The offer is available to new and existing customers until July 10, 2017.

The $50 Unlimited Gigs plan also comes with unlimited talk, text and 4G LTE data. Video streaming is optimized at up to 480p, music at up to 500Kbps and gaming at up to 2Mbps. Boost limits hotspot to 8GB of 4G LTE data. Also on this plan, data deprioritization applies during time of network congestion.

Customers who want HD streaming instead of optimized can purchase it for $20 extra per month. Video is optimized at up to 1080p+, music at up to 1.5Mbps and gaming at up to 8Mbps.

The $50 plan also includes free unlimited music streaming. It includes following streaming providers: Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, Slacker Radio, Napster and 8tracks.

Comparing To Other Prepaid Providers

Up until now, none of the new Boost Mobile plans have been including international features so this is a welcome addition even if it’s for a limited time. With many other prepaid providers, international calling and texting different countries, especially Mexico and Canada, are a standard. For example, Cricket Wireless, GoPhone, Straight Talk Wireless, T-Mobile, H2O Wireless, Ultra Mobile, Lycamobile, Verizon Prepaid and many others are including international calling and texting to Mexico and Canada and many other countries with some or all plans. On the other hand, Boost, just like its sister company Virgin Mobile and MetroPCS, to name a few, are not offering these features within the plan’s monthly cost but at additional price.

Hopefully, if customers respond well to this promotion, which definitely will be the case, the carrier will expanded it and even establish it as a regular $50 plan feature.
