TracFone owned Simple Mobile that operates on T-Mobile network has changed its prepaid plan offerings recently. The biggest change that’s carrier made is on the $25 unlimited talk and text plan. Simple Mobile adds data to $25 plan with 1GB at high speed.
After high speed data allotment, data are throttled to up to 64Kbps until the next billing cycle. The plan is also now eligible to autopaydiscount, which earlier wasn’t the case, so unlimited talk, text and data with 1GB at high speed plus international features can cost $23.75 per month.
The carrier has also discontinued the $55 plan that used to offer unlimited talk, text and data with first 10GB at 4G LTE speed. The $40/4GB plan remains unchanged.
New and Improved Simple Mobile Plans
After the latest changes, Simple Mobile plans include:
$25 monthly plan ($23.75 with auto pay) – unlimited talk, text and data with 1GB at 4G LTE speed – (was just unlimited talk and text without autopay discount)
$40 monthly plan ($37.50 with auto pay) – unlimited talk, text and data with 4GB at 4G LTE speed
$50 monthly plan ($47.50 with auto pay) – unlimited talk, text and unlimited 4G LTE data with optimized video streaming at up to 480p (was 8GB at 4G LTE speed)
$60 monthly plan – unlimited talk, text and unlimited 4G LTE datawith optimized video streaming at up to 480p and 8GB mobile hotspot
The new addition on the $25 plan, unlimited data with 1GB 4G LTE and autopay discount, makes this option one of the best low-cost optionscurrently in prepaid market. And let’s not forget to add unlimited international calling to mobiles in Mexico, Canada, India, China and other 16 countries, unlimited international calling to landlines in 64 countries and unlimited international texting that all plans include. Closest to the Simple Mobile’s $25/1GB plan comes TracFone’s relatively new $20 smartphone monthly plan with 1GB of hard capped data, but with 300 minutes and 1000 texts.
Regarding the $50 and $60 plans, when data are considered, they match MetroPCS’s $50 and $60 plans. Therefore, those interested in these two plans that don’t mind Simple Mobile being TracFone owned, might go for it due to international options. Coverage is the same, T-Mobile’s, although, MetroPCS is T-Mobile owned and therefore more reliable overall.
