Back in August, AT&T's GoPhone prepaid brand started offering multi-line discounts. The discounts start at $5 for the second line and go up from there:
The second line gets $5 off
The third line gets $10 off for a total discount of $15 for 3 lines
The fourth line gets $15 off for a total discount of $30 for 4 lines
The fifth line gets $20 off for a total discount of $50 for 5 lines
The first line, and only the first line, of a multi-line account is also eligible for a $5 auto-pay discount.
When GoPhone multi-line discounts were launched they were only available with the GoPhone $45 and $60 plans. Users of the $30 GoPhone plan, which includes unlimited voice and messaging but no data, were not eligible to be part of a multi-line plan. AT&T quietly rectified that omission sometime in the last few days and $30 plan users can now share in the multi-line savings. The $30 plan can be a good fit for some users, like a senior with a flip phone or a child that you don't want to have unlimited access to data. If you only need a bit of data, a 250 MB for $5 add-on is available.
Here's where the $30 plan fits into the GoPhone line-up:
$25/90 days PayGo - 25¢/minute, 20¢/SMS or MMS
$2/Day Plan - unlimited voice and messaging, no included data, $2 only charged on days the phone is used to make or receive a voice call or send a text. Add-on data available on demand at $1 for 100 MB good for one day.
$30 Monthly Plan - unlimited voice and messaging, no included data, add-on data $5/250 MB
$45 Monthly Plan - unlimited voice, messaging and data, first 4 GB/month at high speed.
$60 Monthly Plan - unlimited voice, messaging and data, first 8 GB/month at high speed.
