FCC Plans to Investigate Yesterday's Network Outage

It looks like yesterday's network outage may have more serious consequences on T-Mobile. Even though the outage has already been fixed and restored, it looks like the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is not letting T-Mobile off the hook so quickly.
The outage, reportedly started around 1 PM EST and lasted a little over 12 hours yesterday, June 15. The issue was discovered to be an"IP traffic related issue" which was found to cause"significant capacity issues in the network core."The issue initially affected the voice and text services of T-Mobile subscribers. As the day progressed however, other subscribers complained that they were also encountering issues.
Despite the issue encountered by T-Mobile customers, many were able to continue communicating via iMessages, FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet, and Slack. But because call and text are still considered pretty important services for subscribers, many can't help but feel annoyed by the outage.
In response to the outage, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai has called the outage as"unacceptable". He also said that they will be investigating the matter.
"We're demanding answers -- and so are American consumers."
