T-Mobile to offer its own high-end phone with a lifetime warranty at an affordable price?

T-Mobile has become the most innovative and influential of the U.S. carriers under the leadership of president and CEO John Legere, who has made it a point to fix what is wrong with the industry in the U.S. T-Mobile was first to end carrier subsidies on new handsets and the two-year contracts that went along with them hand-in-hand. It was T-Mobile that started offering zero-rated streaming features such as Music Freedom and Binge On to customers. And T-Mobile has been behind the latest push to offer unlimited high-speed data plans to subscribers. In fact, T-Mobile One has taxes and fees built right into the pricing for those who sign up for autopay. According to marketing material for T-Mobile that was shown to Android Authority, the nation's third largest carrier hopes to make another pain point disappear. The next Uncarrier announcement will supposedly involve a new phone made exclusively for T-Mobile. It will include all of the features that you'd expect to find in a top shelf model in the $650-$800 price range, but will be priced much less. And the handset will include a lifetime warranty along with free insurance. This way, if the phone is broken, it can be replaced with no problem. And it will be commitment free so that anytime you want to turn it in, you can do so with no repercussions. The marketing material would seem to indicate a third quarter launch of this device. That would cover the period from July through September. While it wasn't mentioned, we would expect the handset to be powered by Android
