Former Sprint customers can now pocket up to $850 if they are willing to move back to the carrier from rivals like Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile
Sprint is offering up an additional $200 in service discounts in an attempt to lure former customers away from their current carrier.
The limited-time promotion, which is set to run through mid-September, is on top of the up to $650 in credits being offered to all customers moving to Sprint. Combined, Sprint is offering up to $850 for customers to switch back.
Sprint began offering the $650 credits early last year in countering a similar promotion from T-Mobile US. The credits are targeted at covering the cost of paying off either an early termination fee and remaining payments on a device’s installment plan. Verizon Wireless and AT&T Mobility have since begun to also offer the up to $650 in credits for customers willing to switch.
Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure said the carrier was port positive against all of its nationwide rivals during itslatest financial quarter, meaning it attracted more customers from Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile US than it lost to those carriers.
